| SUNFIELD IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY |
| Back |
In recent years, Sunfield has moved from a position of a place apart from the community, to an organisation that is very much a part of its local community, often working on joint projects with neighbouring schools and providing opportunities for visits from educational, professional and social groups.
A dedicated Community Links Officer provides contact for the co-ordination of all community visits and involvement, and our annual programme of activity includes:
- Open Days Each year Sunfield organises a Carnival, a major event in the community calendar. From time to time Open Days are held enabling members of the Community to observe our work first hand.
- Local Schools Haybridge High School, Clent First and Belbroughton First Schools all participate in joint projects with children from Sunfield.
- Community Visits Programme The Community Links Officer liaises with local groups encouraging them to visit Sunfield and learn more of our work. To date visits to Sunfield have been from local churches, rotary Clubs, WI groups and local businesses who have chosen Sunfield as their charity of the year.
- Community Involvement in Sunfield Representatives from local business and commerce sit on the board of trustees; Parish Council representatives are members of Sunfield Advisory Council; representatives from the community belong to Sunfield's Arts Management Group; community volunteers are members of Sunfield's external Appeals committee; there are community representatives in the Autism Advisory Group
For any further information or to arrange a visit, please contact the Community Links Officer
