Organised by Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary Club, the event that’s in its 4th year and part of The Black Country Festival celebrations, included a 5k family fun run and a 10k race around Halesowen Town Centre.
Twelve students, their parents and siblings as well as staff members of the school were joined by Sunfield’s Community Fundraising Group volunteers and community supporters from local businesses.
Sunfield sponsorship this year will be allocated towards the Elm House Appeal – one of the residential houses specifically for the schools 2:1 (adult: child) children, who have a higher level of needs. Elm House will be mordernised and individualised to provide living and learning spaces that are tailored to meet the specific needs of the children.
Georgina Forrest, Sunfield Partnership Development Manager said; “The run and walk events were both a real success and it was great to see so many members of Team Sunfield wearing their bright yellow t-shirts proudly along the route. The event gave our students further opportunity to be a part of the local community, to exercise and most importantly, to have fun.”
If you’d like to take on a run or walk event in aid of Sunfield or to join the team in The Black Country Run next year (Sunday 3rd July 2016) please contact Georgina Forrest on 01562 881357.
