News Articles | ‘Team Sunfield’ raise the most money in Black Country Run

A team of 45 Sunfield runners and walkers took part in The Black Country Run

Halesowen & Rowley Regis Rotary present charity cup - Black Country Run 2014The team, made up of Sunfield students, staff, volunteers, community and local business supporters all completed either a 5k fun run or a 10k race around Halesowen Town Centre, raising sponsorship for Sunfield.

We are pleased to announce the total raised as just under £6,000.

Team Sunfield’s total amount raised of £5,979.75 will go towards the Enhanced Learning and Therapy Support Fund, where monies will be used to fund specific one-off items of equipment that will ‘enhance’ the quality of life and education for the children, such as; sports equipment, musical instruments, computer equipment and sensory resources.

Sunfield have also been awarded with a charity cup as the team that raised the most in 2014.

Black Country Run 2014 runners, Sept 2014Georgina Forrest, Sunfield’s Partnership Development Manager, said, ‘We are delighted to now be able to look at purchasing new sensory resources, an interactive I board computer and items for our food technology kitchen all in support of our students. A thank you goes out to Halesowen and Rowley Regis Rotary Club.  To be awarded with the charity cup as the team that raised the most sponsorship is the ‘icing on the cake’, it’s also a wonderful acknowledgment for our three students that took part in the event’.
