Professor Barry Carpenter resigns as Chief Executive of Sunfield
Sunfield's Trustees have issued the following statement following the resignation of Chief Executive, Professor Barry Carpenter:

"The Trustees of Sunfield Children's Homes have received the news of the resignation of Professor Barry Carpenter OBE from December 31st 2008 with regret. This means that he will not be returning following his period of sabbatical leave at the University of Oxford during the autumn.
"Professor Carpenter's resignation follows a period of ill health, from which he has yet fully to recover, and is in accordance with his wishes to pursue his career elsewhere.
"The Trustees pay tribute to Professor Carpenter's immense contribution to Sunfield over the past 11 years and also to his outstanding work in the field of autism in general, for which he is rightly acknowledged throughout the world.
"The Trustees wish him well for the future and are sure he will continue to contribute significantly in his field in future years."
