Nursery's little rays of sunshine bring cheer for Sunfield
Summer was definitely going to be at its brightest and best at Jigsaw Nursery in Hatch End on June 10th, as the children planned to wear their brightest coloured clothes to raise money for Sunfield.
Last year Jigsaw Nursery raised £223 for Sunfield and this event is part of the school’s annual Sunshine Week Appeal, which this year aims to raise £10,000 towards the cost of the fit out and furnishing of the brand new purpose-built classroom facility at the Clent site.

Monique Lauder, nursery supervisor at Jigsaw, says: “My son, Zachary, is a pupil at Sunfield. It is a really wonderful place and the staff there have done so much to help Zach reach his full potential. These new classroom facilities will really help the children there as they have been designed with their very specific needs in mind.
“As a charity, Sunfield receives no Government funding for projects like the new school and the costs have to be met entirely through fundraising. The specialist furniture and equipment they now need is going to cost around £250,000 in total and I am delighted that the children and staff at Jigsaw are taking part in the Sunshine Week Appeal again this year.
”The children will not be wearing their usual “uniform” of a Jigsaw Nursery t-shirt, but have been challenged to come to nursery in their brightest and most colourful outfits for the day. They will also be taking home sunflower seeds which they can grow at home during the summer.
Ian Jones, director of Appeals & Development at Sunfield, says: “It is only through groups such as Jigsaw Nursery supporting us in this way that we are able to fund projects like our new educational centre and we are, as always, very grateful for the efforts of the staff and the children.”
