David Clement
David is the son of the late David Clement who came to work at Sunfield as a young man and remained involved throughout his life. David senior was a trustee until his death in 2007. David was born and brought up just two miles from Sunfield and as well as working with his father on the farm, he was naturally quite involved with Sunfield life.
During the 1980's, David’s career took him away from both farming and Sunfield into the world of TV production where, working with his wife, Jacky, he developed a television production company. They renovated and designed a studio complex in part of the disused buildings on the farm. As the Company expanded, it progressed into all kinds of TV production including children's animation and continued on into the new millennium. After 28 very hectic years, they have now let the studio complex to a new company.
David and Jacky have been married for 40 years this year and have three children, Melissa, James and Charlotte and one grandson. They are still living at the farm.
David is very pleased to see how Sunfield has grown into such a respected organisation whilst still retaining its individualism and friendliness. As a trustee, he is committed to doing all he can to help secure Sunfield’s future and ongoing success. |

Martin Wood
For Martin, Sunfield has always been a special place and his family connections go back to the 1930s. In 1964, Martin was invited to Sunfield by founder Michael Wilson to help in his work with colour following the principals of the Goethean Science Foundation. This visit was to change his life in many ways as he was to meet Joan Pleavin who was working at Sunfield and who was later to become his wife.
Having been a student for many years, Martin decided to settle in the Midlands and begin his career in insurance. He later went on to form his own insurance business in 1969 - KGJ Insurance Brokers - where he is still working to this day.
After they married, Joan and Martin continued to look after children - at one time they had 14 foster children at home. Having now been married for over 43 years, Martin and Joan have three children and one grandchild.
Martin’s interest in the care of children and young people is very much alive and he is very happy to become a Sunfield trustee. |
