What We Do

Bespoke integrated on-site services to support learning and living.

As an independent residential special school, Sunfield supports children and young adults, aged 6 – 19 years, with severe and complex learning and behavioural needs, including conditions such as Autism and Pathological Demand Avoidance Syndrome (PDA). We offer residential placements between 38 and 52 weeks, as well as an education day provision to students from neighbouring local authorities. We can be creative and flexible with our residential packages, and can even offer short breaks for current students on day or 38 week placements.

At Sunfield, everyone is passionate about working together, towards a united vision: a world where people with complex needs and Autism succeed and flourish.

Our on-site teams in Psychology and Therapies, Care, and Education support children in their learning and living. We integrate these services with those offered by our Health, Family Services and Transition teams, to ensure that children and families feel confident, cared for and understood – at Sunfield, and when they progress into adulthood.

Whatever challenges your child faces, we will help them to reveal their strengths. However complex their needs, we will encourage them to discover their abilities. But, most importantly of all, whenever they find communication difficult, we will listen, so they can develop trust and confidence, in themselves and in Sunfield.

We are currently taking referrals and admissions for 38 and 52 week placements.
