Senior Care Support Worker

Sunfield Childrens Home – Clent

Salary-£16,990.56 to £17,990.50 dependent upon experience and Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare

Full Time 38 hours per week, will include weekend working

Do you have experience in caring for people with Special & Complex Needs?

Are you ready to inspire a team?

Do you want your career development to be invested in?

The role:

In anticipation for new children and young people joining Sunfield, we are looking for Senior Care Support Workers to join our teams. The role of Senior Care Support Worker at Sunfield is varied and challenging, no two days are the same.

You will lead a shift team, planning for the shift ahead, ensuring you delegate roles and responsibilities effectively and with strong student and staff relationships in mind.

You will help develop existing and new staff, providing them with your expertise, coaching and guidance, often acting as a mentor or buddy.

You will be given the opportunity of Key Working for a student; acting as their advocate, ensuring they reach their full potential.

You will also support new student transitions into Sunfield, so you will need to quickly understand, interpret and adapt to the needs of a new student, often operating unfazed during times of uncertainty, to ensure their introduction to Sunfield is a positive one and that they feel safe and supported.

You will have a passion for and be skilled at supporting people with special needs including challenging behaviour (adults or children). You will be a people person, understanding individual team member’s strengths and how to get the best out of people.

You won’t be fazed by challenging behaviour, instead you’ll be skilled at identifying ways to distract, diffuse and enable others to develop their practice accordingly.

You’ll be adept at documenting what you do and ensuring others do too; to enable the team to proudly showcase their student’s achievements both in writing and in review meetings to parents, local authorities and other key stakeholders.

You will already have experience in a care setting or perhaps an assessment unit/home or an outreach service.

Ultimately you will be able to demonstrate that you are highly skilled in supporting people with complex needs to enable them to develop and flourish.

What we will provide you with:

– A thorough and specialist induction to ensure you are successful in this role.

– 35 days annual leave including bank holidays

– Opportunities for overtime

– Free Car Parking

– Childcare Vouchers
